Goochland Safe Routes to School (SRTS), a partnership between county, school, and community leaders, is hoping that students in Goochland County can design its logo. The logo will be used on all of the SRTS information distributed throughout the group’s campaign to obtain safety upgrades to areas in and around our schools. The logo will also be used here on this website . Contest entries should include elements of safety in walking and biking, such as children on bikes with helmets, children in crosswalks, and  scenes around our schools. All students in grades K-8 are eligible to participate. The winning design will be announced in November and the grand-prize winner will receive a new bicycle.

DEADLINE FOR DESIGN SUBMISSION
OCTOBER 31, 2008

Contest Guidelines:

• Types of acceptable media: Colored pencil, marker, crayon, pastel, computer generated, and paint

• Scenes should include elements of safe walking and biking

• Goochland Safe Routes to School should be incorporated in the design

• Logo cannot use more than four colors

• Design should be done on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper
